Gus Dean returns to ARCA competition at Talladega Superspeedway

MOORESVILLE, N.C. – NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series (NGTOS) rookie Gus Dean (@gusdean) will take advantage of an off weekend and return to the ARCA Menards Series to compete in Friday afternoon’s General Tire 200 at the famed Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway.

The 2.66-mile superspeedway will always be a special race track for the Bluffton, S.C. Three years ago, Dean scored his first career ARCA victory in a breathtaking finish in then a one-race deal for Mason Mitchell Motorsports. The victory in Dean’s second career ARCA start enticed his marketing partner at the time to increase their relationship with Dean which included two full-time seasons of ARCA competition with Win-Tron Racing.

Returning to Talladega for the fourth time in his career, Dean hopes to rekindle the jubilation of 2016 and lead Win-Tron Racing, a former ARCA winner at Talladega back to Victory Lane on Friday afternoon.

“Very excited to come back to race in the ARCA Menard Series and especially at Talladega Superspeedway,” said Dean. “The victory in 2016 will be something I’ll never forget and is very important to me – but I’m ready to make new memories on Friday with Win-Tron Racing.”

Dean believes he’ll have an opportunity to contend for his third career ARCA Menards Series victory because of the work of his crew chief Jamie Jones who has been methodically fine-tuning his No. 32 Chevrolet Camaro for Dean’s 49th career start.

The Mooresville, N.C.-based team has repaired Dean’s No. 32 Chevrolet that led 29 laps in the season-opening race at Daytona before being collected in a late-race accident while challenging for the win. Dean, 24, feels his race car will be just as fast if not faster next weekend.

“I can’t begin to thank Jamie (Jones), Kevin (Cywinski, car owner) and the guys for their work on our speedway car,” added Dean. “Jamie has worked very hard to repair the car from Daytona. It was one of the best speedway cars I’ve ever had. Unfortunately, we just didn’t have a finish to show that.

“I’m confident we can go to Talladega and backup our Daytona performance and once again showcase the team’s strength. We just need a little superspeedway luck.”

Longtime Dean supporter CAB Installers will serve as the co-primary marketing partner for the Apr.  26 race, while Nu-Calgon joins the organization to share the spotlight in the team’s second race of the year.

Nu-Calgon, formerly part of Calgon Corporation and Calgon Vestal Laboratories, has been a leader in the HVACR aftermarket for the past 70 years. It is strategically headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, where it distributes its products from a 100,000 square-foot warehouse.

Nu-Calgon markets and distributes a complete line of specialty chemical products for the HVACR aftermarket. These include coil cleaners, leak sealants, air purifiers and refrigeration oils, as well as products for water treatment, ice machine maintenance, and other specialty applications.

These products are marketed to air conditioning, heating, refrigeration and plumbing wholesalers, as well as food service | restaurant suppliers and OEMs.

“I can’t thank CAB Installers and Nu-Calgon for making Talladega possible,” added Dean. “Without them, I would haven’t this chance and I want to thank them personally with a celebration in Victory Lane. That would be perfect.”

Win-Tron Racing car owner Kevin Cywinski says the team has been determined since the Daytona finish to rebuild their piece and come back to Talladega and finish what they started during Speedweeks 2019.

“Gus drove the best restrictor plate I’ve ever seen him drive in February,” said Cywinski. “He did everything right – just was at the right place at the wrong time a couple laps from the finish. We’ve repaired the car and should be pretty strong on Friday.

“Superspeedway racing is always pretty tense, but Gus has a craft for it. With the teamwork of him, Jamie and our spotter Tyler Green – I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do.”

Dean will carry the Nu-Calgon onboard camera for Friday afternoon’s race – providing an exclusive view of the action from inside his automobile.

In addition to Nu-Calgon and CAB Installers, Baker Distributing Co. and LG Air Conditioning Technologies will serve as an associate marketing partner for the anticipated thriller.

In Dean’s three previous ARCA starts, he has one win, one top-five and two top-10 finishes. In 2018, he finished 12th after having to pit for fuel in ARCA overtime.

Cole Glasson To Make ARCA Racing Series Debut For Win-Tron Racing At Kansas

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – MOORESVILLE, N.C. – (Aug. 14, 2018) – Eighteen-year-old Cole Glasson will make his ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards debut driving for Win-Tron Racing during the ARCA season finale at Kansas Speedway on Oct. 19.

Glasson took part in the ARCA Racing Series test at Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison, Ill., in June, turning a handful of laps in the No. 32 GREE Cooling Products Chevrolet driven by Win-Tron Racing’s full-time driver and Elko Speedway winner Gus Dean.

Following the successful test, Glasson continued to work with Win-Tron Racing to secure an opportunity to make his ARCA debut. That dream will become a reality on Oct. 19 at Kansas Speedway.

Glasson’s No. 33 Win-Tron Racing Chevrolet will carry primary sponsorship from AM Technical Solutions, a construction management, project management and facility solutions firm for the high tech markets. Founded in 1994, AM Technical Solutions has more than a 20 year track record of delivering high complexity construction projects for many of the leading technology companies with proven success.

“We were very impressed with Cole during the Gateway ARCA test,” said Win-Tron Racing owner Kevin Cywinski. “He showed a willingness to listen to everything we were telling him and he was very focused on learning as much as he could during his time in the race car as well as his time out of the race car. We’re excited to have Cole with us for the race in Kansas and we look forward to seeing what he can do.”

Glasson has been racing since the age of 5. He started in kid karts and has steadily moved up the ranks, competing in karting events at the regional and national level, winning more than 100 races before transitioning to full-bodied stock cars in 2013.

In 2016 Glasson began racing in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series late model stock car division at tracks across the Southeast. In 2017 he joined Lee Faulk Racing and Development, a premier late model development team based in Denver, N.C.

This year Glasson has raced predominately at tracks in the Southeast, including Hickory Motor Speedway, Greenville Pickens Speedway and Anderson Motor Speedway. He most recently competed in the CARS Response Energy Tour Throwback 276, finishing 11th in an all-star field. In the last two years he’s earned 18 top-five and 26 top-10 finishes in a late model.

“I’ve worked so hard for an opportunity like this, so I can’t thank Kevin and Traci Cywinski enough for believing in me and giving me this opportunity. I’m beyond excited,” Glasson said. “I have to say thank you to God, MPM Marketing and AM Technical Solutions for making this opportunity possible. Obviously I have to thank my parents as well as Lee and Michael Faulk for everything they’ve taught me the last two years.”

Glasson’s goal going into the ARCA finale will be to learn as much as possible during his first ARCA Racing Series start.

“I would say there are no expectations for me going into the race,” Glasson said. “If I keep doing what I’ve been doing this year, which is listen, learn and stay relaxed, then I will surpass any expecation that I could set. This is going to be a lot of fun and I can’t wait to get to Kansas.”

The ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards Kansas ARCA 150 will be held Oct. 19 at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kan., and will air live on FOX Sports 2 at 8:30 p.m. EST.

AM Technical Solutions will be Cole Glasson’s sponsor when he makes his ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards debut at Kansas Speedway on Oct. 18.
